Yes, Escape Academy supports crossplay, but only partially.
Partially — Escape Academy supports limited crossplay, so only some platforms play together. Cross-progression is not supported, so your saves stay tied to the platform you play on.

No — Escape Academy does not support cross-progression. Saves and unlocks stay tied to the platform where you earned them.
Yes — Escape Academy supports split screen / couch co-op, so players can share one screen on supported platforms.
Local splitscreen co-op is supported for two players on the same device, and it is the simplest way to play with someone next to you — it also completely bypasses the PlayStation crossplay restriction. On PC, splitscreen can be toggled on and off during a run.
Escape Academy supports two-player online co-op, joined with a room code rather than platform matchmaking. Cross-platform play covers Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Windows Store (including the Xbox Game Pass version), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, all in one pool. The exception is PlayStation: the PS4 and PS5 versions can only cross-play with each other, and cannot join PC, Xbox or Switch players.
The whole campaign can be played solo, and the puzzles are designed to work either way. An internet connection is only needed for online co-op, so single-player and local co-op both work offline.
The PlayStation isolation is the one real limitation: if one of you is on PS4 or PS5 and the other is on PC, Xbox or Switch, there is no way to play online together. There is also no cross-progression, so your completion records and unlocks stay on the platform where you earned them.
Partly. PC (Steam, Epic and the Windows Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch all play together. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 can only play with each other.
No. PS4 and PS5 can cross-play only with themselves. They cannot join Steam, Epic, Windows Store, Xbox or Switch players online.
Two. It is designed as a two-player co-op escape room game, and the full campaign can also be played solo.
Yes. Two players can play locally in splitscreen on the same device, on every platform. This works even between a PlayStation player and a friend, since it does not use online crossplay.
The host is given a room code. Share that code with your co-op partner and they enter it to join your session, as long as you are both inside the same crossplay pool.

WheelMates is a two-player co-op adventure from Firevolt where you drive tiny RC cars through an eccentric scientist's house, solving puzzles together. It launches PC-only on Steam on September 1, 2026 (with Steam Deck support), so crossplay doesn't apply at launch — there's no other platform yet. Console editions are expected in the first half of 2027, when crossplay becomes a possibility to watch. Only one player needs to buy it: a Friend's Pass shares a copy with a second player via Steam. Co-op works online or in local split-screen.

PC (Steam/GOG) and Mobile (iOS/Android) players can now play together through dedicated servers, added in the 1.4.5 update (January 2026). Console players are limited to their own family — PS4 with PS5 and Xbox One with Xbox Series — and cannot yet join PC or Mobile worlds. At Gamescom 2026, Re-Logic said a first phase of wider crossplay is 'on deck' for the upcoming Patch 1.4.6.

Grounded has full crossplay across Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC, though every player needs a free Microsoft account — even on PlayStation and Switch. Cross-save only spans the Microsoft ecosystem (Xbox and the PC Microsoft Store/Game Pass version), so Steam and PlayStation saves stay separate.
