Quick Answer: Does Ready or Not have Crossplay & Cross-Progression?

Yes, Ready or Not supports full crossplay across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S. This means you can play with friends regardless of their platform. Cross-progression is limited — your progress only carries between some platforms, not all of them.

Note: Crossplay is switched OFF by default on PS5 and Xbox Series — you have to enable it yourself under Settings in the Gameplay tab. You don't need an Epic Games account to play crossplay, but linking one (optional) is how you add cross-platform friends. Console players also cannot join a PC host running mods, even with crossplay on. Cross-progression is limited to Xbox Play Anywhere — Xbox and the Microsoft Store PC version share saves, but Steam, Epic and PS5 do not.

How to Play Cross-Platform

  1. On console, open Settings → Gameplay and set Cross-Play to Enabled — it is turned off by default.
  2. You don't need an Epic Games account for public crossplay, but to invite specific friends across platforms link an Epic account — cross-platform friends are added through Epic, not Steam or your console friends list.
  3. Add your friends by their Epic display name and invite them into your squad.
  4. If you are hosting on PC, disable mods — console players cannot join a modded session.

Does Ready or Not Have Cross-Progression?

Partially — Ready or Not has limited cross-progression. Your progress carries between some platforms but not others, so check the matrix above before you buy on a second platform.

Does Ready or Not Have Split Screen / Couch Co-op?

No — Ready or Not does not offer split screen or couch co-op. To play together, each player needs their own system running the game.

There is no split-screen or local co-op. All five-player co-op is online, so each operator needs their own PC or console and their own copy of the game.

Technical Details

How Ready or Not Online Play Works

Since the console launch on 15 July 2025, Ready or Not has full crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with co-op squads of up to five operators clearing missions together. You don't need an Epic Games account to play crossplay; linking one is optional and handles cross-platform friends, since cross-platform invites go through Epic rather than Steam or console friends lists.

Ready or Not Solo & Offline Play

The full campaign can be played solo with an AI-controlled SWAT team that you command through the door-breaching and clearing loop. Because the AI squad stands in for human players, single-player works without other people and does not depend on the online systems.

Known Issues & Limitations

Two things trip groups up. First, crossplay is disabled by default on both consoles, so a console player who has not toggled it on in Settings will simply not see cross-platform lobbies. Second, mods are a PC-only feature: if a PC host is running mods, console players cannot join that session at all, even with crossplay enabled. Cross-progression is also limited — thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere, saves and unlocks carry between Xbox Series and the Microsoft Store (Game Pass) PC version, but they do not move to or from Steam, the Epic Games Store or PS5.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Ready or Not crossplay?

Yes. PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players can play together in co-op, and have been able to since the console launch in July 2025. You don't need an Epic Games account to play crossplay — linking one is optional and lets you add cross-platform friends.

How do I turn on crossplay in Ready or Not?

On console it is off by default. Open Settings (or Options), go to the Gameplay tab, and set Cross-Play to Enabled. Without this, you will not see players from other platforms.

Why can't console players join my Ready or Not game?

The most common reason is mods. Mods are supported on PC but not on consoles, and console players cannot join a PC host running a modded session even with crossplay enabled. The other likely cause is that crossplay is still disabled in their console settings.

Does Ready or Not have cross-progression?

Only partially. Xbox Play Anywhere shares your saves and unlocks between Xbox Series and the Microsoft Store (Game Pass) PC version, but there is no cross-progression to or from Steam, the Epic Games Store or PS5.

How many players is Ready or Not co-op?

Up to five operators can play a mission together. The campaign can also be played solo with an AI-controlled SWAT team under your command.
