Quick Answer: Does Rematch have Crossplay & Cross-Progression?

Yes, Rematch supports full crossplay across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S. This means you can play with friends regardless of their platform. Cross-progression is not supported, so your saves stay tied to the platform you play on.

Note: Crossplay works, but progression does not: your rank, cosmetics and unlocks stay locked to the platform you earned them on, and Sloclap has said it has no plans for cross-progression. Pick one platform before you invest time. Note too that crossplay was not in the June 2025 launch build — it arrived with Patch 3 in September 2025.

How to Play Cross-Platform

  1. Make sure everyone is on Patch 3 or later — crossplay was added in the September 2025 update and is not in the launch build.
  2. Open the social / friends menu and add your friend by their account name.
  3. Invite them to your squad, then queue for a match together on any of PC, PS5 or Xbox Series.
  4. Remember only the match is shared — rank and cosmetics stay on each player's own platform.

Platform Compatibility

Rematch is available on the following platforms:

PCPlayStation 5Xbox Series X/S
Feature Supported Details
Crossplay Yes All listed platforms can play together.
Cross-Progression No Saves and unlocks stay tied to each platform.
Split Screen / Couch Co-op No Online multiplayer only — no shared-screen play.

Does Rematch Have Cross-Progression?

No — Rematch does not support cross-progression. Saves and unlocks stay tied to the platform where you earned them.

The main limitation is the absence of cross-progression. Crossplay lets you share a pitch with friends on other platforms, but it does not move anything with you: rank, season progress, cosmetics and unlocks are all tied to the platform where you earned them. Sloclap has stated there are no plans to add cross-progression, so if you expect to switch between, say, PC and PS5, you will be starting over each time.

Does Rematch Have Split Screen / Couch Co-op?

No — Rematch does not offer split screen or couch co-op. To play together, each player needs their own system running the game.

There is no local co-op or split-screen. Every player on a team needs their own console or PC, their own copy of the game and their own account, and you play together over the internet.

Technical Details

How Rematch Online Play Works

Rematch is Sloclap's third-person arcade football game, played in 3v3, 4v4 and 5v5 formats with a ranked 5v5 ladder. Crossplay is now full across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, so you can build a squad from any mix of platforms and queue together. This was not true at release: the game launched in June 2025 without cross-platform play, Sloclap publicly apologised, and the feature landed in Patch 3 in September 2025.

Rematch Solo & Offline Play

Rematch is an online-only game and needs a constant connection; there is no offline mode. You can queue on your own and be placed with other players, and there are practice and training areas to drill shooting and movement, but the game is built entirely around live team matches.
