Is The Midnight Walkers Crossplay?

Midnight Walkers is a PvPvE extraction shooter set in an isolated building called the Grand Center. You team up in squads (usually up to 4 players) to fight through floors infested with zombies while competing against other player squads for loot. You must extract safely to keep your gear.

While you can queue into the Grand Center solo, there is no offline single-player mode. You will still be on a server with other hostile players and AI zombies. Playing solo is considered 'Hard Mode' as you will likely face full enemy squads.

Official verification is pending. However, high-fidelity extraction shooters often struggle on Steam Deck due to heavy CPU usage and anti-cheat requirements. Expect to need low settings or experience performance dips until further optimization patches arrive.

As an Early Access title, expect occasional server instability, matchmaking bugs, or balancing issues with weapons and zombie AI. The developers are active in patching, but the 'extraction' loop can be frustrating if a server crash causes you to lose loot.

There is no official release date for console versions yet. The developers are currently focused on the PC Early Access launch on Steam. If the game is successful, console ports are likely to follow later, similar to other extraction shooters.

It is PvPvE (Player vs Player vs Environment). You fight against AI zombies/monsters AND other human players. You cannot disable PvP; other players can kill you and steal your loot.

The game will enter Early Access on January 29th, 2026, meaning that the pricing model has not been revealed yet.

Squads typically support up to 4 players, allowing for tactical team play across the different classes (Assaulter, Medic, etc.).

Partial controller support is usually available via Steam Input, but as a precision PC shooter, keyboard and mouse provide a significant competitive advantage. No aim assist is guaranteed.
